Kings in disguise was originally published as a six-issue serial under that same title, with new material, including a 10-page story which appeared in Dark horse presents, added to this collection.
It is January 1932, and movie-loving Freddie Bloch is trading his father's liquor bottles for the cost of a cheap matinee. When his father suddenly disappears and his brother gets arrested, Freddie finds himself homeless and adrift, trying to survive the Detroit labor riots and furor of violent, anti-Communist mobs.
